What are Areas of Responsibility in Oracle Fusion HCM?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM), Areas of Responsibility (AOR) serve as a strategic security model that defines access based on individual or team roles within the organization. By configuring AORs, companies can assign security roles tailored to a specific scope of responsibility, determining what records users can view and manage.<\/p>\n

The AOR framework brings several advantages:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  • Enhanced Security:<\/strong> By aligning access privileges with specific responsibilities, AORs ensure that sensitive information is accessible only to the right people, enhancing overall security.<\/li>\n
  • Efficient Role Management:<\/strong> AORs reduce the need for multiple data roles and security profiles, simplifying the process of role updates when employees’ responsibilities change.<\/li>\n
  • Streamlined Access Control:<\/strong> With AOR, access is scoped to relevant records, allowing for more effective and focused role-based data management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Implementing AOR in Oracle Fusion HCM offers a scalable approach to access control, boosting both operational efficiency and security compliance as organizational roles evolve.<\/p>\n

    Areas of Responsibility are responsibilities that an Employee has a part of his job based on his role. User can now mass assign or remove the responsibilities using user defined template criteria. It\u2019s a controlled feature available since 21B release.<\/p>\n

    Prerequisite:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Admin should raise SR to avail the controlled program feature.<\/li>\n
    • To auto provision and restore AOR, Admin should have access to HCM Application Administrator job role (ORA_HRC_HUMAN_CAPITAL_MANAGEMENT_APPLICATION_ADMINISTRATOR_JOB)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Introduction:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Step1:\u00a0<\/strong>To Enable the Auto Provision Area of Responsibilities. Search \u201cManage Administrator Profile Values\u201d task in the setup and maintenance.<\/p>\n

      Step2:<\/strong>\u00a0Search for\u00a0ORA_PER_AOR_AUTO_PROVISION_ENABLED<\/strong>\u00a0profile option. Select the Level as\u00a0Site. Change the value to \u2018Y\u2019 for the site level and Click on Save and Close.<\/p>\n

      Step3:<\/strong>\u00a0Auto Provision responsibilities can be done by:<\/p>\n

      • AOR Template Row Level Action<\/li>\n
      • Auto Provision Responsibilities Scheduled Process from Scheduled Process work area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Step 4<\/strong>: Create or edit the AOR Template.<\/p>\n

        Step 5<\/strong>: Quick Actions>>Workforce Structure>>Autoprovision Responsibilities<\/p>\n

        Step 9:\u00a0<\/strong>While scheduling Process, the following parameters needs to be considered.<\/p>\n

        Step 10:\u00a0<\/strong>Suppose Responsibilities needs to be reverted to previous state, it possible to do so, by using\u00a0Restore Autoprovisioned Responsibilities.<\/em><\/p>\n

        Step 11:\u00a0<\/strong>Responsibilities can be restored for Single Template or All Template, User has to\u00a0choose the Template<\/em>\u00a0to be reverted and click on\u00a0Restore.<\/em><\/p>\n

        Points to be considered:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Auto provision actions do not have Approvals.<\/li>\n
        • Responsibilities can be restored only to the previous state.<\/li>\n
        • When the criteria are based on the user\u2019s role, the role must be assigned to that person before user runs the auto provisioning responsibilities.<\/li>\n
        • When user modifies value in the Basic Info, Responsibility Score or Assign by Criteria sections and submit the transaction. All previously auto provisioned data which are pending to be committed and data stored for restoring will be deleted.<\/li>\n
        • When user create a\u00a0new template<\/em>, user cannot use the Restore Auto provisioned Responsibilities page since there is no previous data of auto provisioned responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
